Dr Bhavin Kawa is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist with a strong focus on vascular and non-vascular interventions, as well as uroradiology.
He completed his clinical radiology training at St George’s Hospital in London, where he also undertook subspecialty training as an Interventional Radiology Fellow. In 2022, he was appointed Consultant Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
Dr Kawa has extensive experience in a variety of vascular and non-vascular interventions, including ultrasound and CT-guided biopsies and drainages, nerve root and facet joint injections, long-term vascular access, gastrointestinal stenting, hepatobiliary interventions, nephrostomy insertion, antegrade ureteric stenting, IVC filter insertion and retrieval, and embolization procedures, such as varicocele and prostate artery embolization for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
He also has a keen interest in diagnostic uroradiology and vascular radiology, with particular expertise in prostate MRI, renal imaging, and CT/MRI angiography. He is a core member of the Urology Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at the Kent Oncology Centre.
Dr Kawa has received multiple academic awards, including from the Royal Society of Medicine and the regional Health Education England Awards. He has published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology and has been invited to present at both national and international conferences. Dr Kawa is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists, the British Society of Interventional Radiology, the European Society of Radiology, and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
