Dr Kirwan qualified from St Bartholomew's Hospital in London in 1989. She completed the MRCP before starting radiology training at King's College Hospital London, which included subspeciality breast training at King's and colorectal imaging at St Mark's, The National Bowel Hospital.

She represents radiology at breast and colorectal MDMs in addition to being the Lead Radiologist for the West Kent bowel cancer screening programme.
